2009 7th Runaways 5 Miler  August 16th at 9am

Race starts at Town Hall, 43 S. Washington St., North Attleboro, Ma

It really feels good to help out a great cause like the Attleboro VNA. It was another beautiful day and we would like to send out a “thank you” to Dr. Mark young for putting on a great run.
Houghton Physical Therapy donates $500 to the Runaways 7th annual Runaround 5 miler. This race benefits the Community VNA Hospice Care. It is held on Sunday, August 16, 2009. The race starts at 9am. If you would like to enter you can find more information and the registration form at http://runawaysclub.org/runaways_5_miler.html

You can come see our therapists at the Houghton tent. We will have 4 therapists stretching the runners before and after the race. We will be there at 7:30 am for those early birds. We will also be giving away promotional items such as lanyards, magnets, pens, and t-shirts –while supplies last. Our therapists will be available to talk to if you have any questions about any pains or strains that have been ailing you.

Once again Houghton is proud to be helping the community. We know how important the Community VNA is to the elderly and we truly value their services. We feel that the employees and volunteers are all Angels sent from heaven because of the care and dedication the give to our elderly residents.  Thank you to Dr. Mark Young, Christine Stockley and Marilyn Woodruff for thinking of us and making us part of your event!

City schools thankful for donations in tough times

ATTLEBORO - The worldwide financial crisis is resulting in cutbacks for many government agencies, but local groups and businesses are coming to the aid of the city's schools with generous donations.   Bristol County Savings Bank presented the school department with a check for $10,000 Monday night to continue its support of a high school "credit recovery" program, and city teachers donated $4,000 for an intramural basketball program and assistance to families in paying sports user fees.  Read more here ...

Attleboro Wanderers receive new T-shirts for their walking club - Houghton physical therapy is glad to help the Larson Senior‘s walking club by donating shirts for the men and woman keeping an active lifestyle. Heather Bassett, DPT of Houghton Physical Therapy keeps local families warm - Heather hosted a coat drive this November at HPTSC.  She was able to collect 75 coats with the help of the staff and our caring patients. They were recently donated to the Family Resource Center and New Hope both local charity facilities of our home town Attleboro.

Houghton Physical Therapy adopts 2 families for Christmas - Santa is coming this year for 2 families located in Attleboro. The spirit of Christmas is in the giving, so we asked these families what was on their list this year. We have been able to collect all their favorites. A football and toys and sports memorabilia for Dad and son, and for mom and daughter we have perfumes, lotions, Curious George and Princesses.
